Portraits is another crowdsourcing project of mine. This time I've invited three ladies to pick a 7th chord of their choice to produce an arrangement based upon it. It is a musical portrait of sorts where the chord is the "look" of the person and the track is the "drawing" of it made by me. I'm basing the arrangement around the chord picked and limiting the composition to notes it contains, but I am using inversions and velocity tweaks to achieve different voicings. I've also let myself free to pick any unstable sounds — noises — to use.

It was an interesting experience, trying to describe someone using harmony I don't even pick. Participants in this volume are ranging from close friends to ones I have never met or even saw. Tracks are named by the initials of the person involved. Whether to expose themselves further on this release is up to them. I am just very grateful for their willingness to give this project a try and hope they, and you as well, will enjoy the sounds.
